6.8 magnitude earthquake strikes the Kermadec Islands region in New Zealand, however no fatalities have been reported

According to the National Institute for Seismology, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck the Kermadec Islands region of New Zealand on Thursday at 06:25:58 IST (NCS).

On Thursday, NCS tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.8, happened on 16-03-2023, 06:25:58 IST, Lat: -30.34 & Long: -175.17, Depth: 41 Km, Location: Kermadec Islands.

In -30.34 degrees latitude and -175.17 degrees longitude, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 41 kilometres.
